Hello… an exciting new opportunity has just become available in our Insure Risk & Underwriting, Commercial Pricing area. We are looking to recruit a Developer for our rating engine

Role Objectives

• To support the Risk and Underwriting Function with the implementation, maintenance, documentation, and troubleshooting of rating structures and underwriting rules on Hollard Insure’s rating engine. Rating structures are the algorithms through which insurers set premiums for a given client/risk profile whilst underwriting rules are the algorithms that determine whether a client/risk is suitable for Hollard Insure

RATING ENGINE IMPLEMENTATION, MAINTENANCE, DOCUMENTATION, AND TROUBLESHOOTING

• Assist with the design and deployment of new and existing rating structures in line with the product development control cycle onto Hollard Insure rating engine
• Assisting in the design, development, and implementation of rating solutions and underwriting rules onto the rating engine
• Implement rating structures by studying information needs of systems, conferring with users, and studying systems flows, data usage, and work processes
• Determine operational feasibility of the rating structure and underwriting rules by analyses of problem definitions, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
• Manage the complexity of configuring rating and underwriting rules to be suitable across several different systems. Investigate problem areas and troubleshoot problems within the rating engine where necessary
• Document the rating structures and underwriting rules implemented. Documentation includes Data Dictionaries, Technical Specifications, and Test Cases, code comments, and clear code
• Assist in the development of documentation used to demonstrate solutions to actuaries and underwriters, this could include flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts
• Work closely with the integration team to ensure mappings are correctly defined and rating calls work as expected
• Compile and submit test evidence that shows that the rating has been implemented correctly so that it can pass Hollard Insure’s deployment procedure
• Work closely and collaborate with actuarial staff regarding rating deployments in the insurance industry to develop insurance knowledge and business understanding
• Get involved in ad hoc activities and analyses where possible to support and improve the pricing strategy
• Assist with the development of rate calculators to test the accuracy of rate implementations

RELATIONSHIP & STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

• Manage and maintain relationships with all Hollard Insure Risk and Underwriting and IT stakeholders regarding ongoing rate implementation
• Assist in IT project related to pricing and underwriting implementation
• Drive system implementation and testing
