    Developer Operations Engineer - (230000I1)

    An exciting vacancy exists at Corporate Office for an experienced and skilled professional to fulfil the Developer Operations Engineer role within the Information Technology division. 

    Key Performance Output 

    The successful candidate will be reporting to the Technical Manager Enterprise Applications, and will be responsible for but not limited to the following: 

    • Responsible for technical alignment of business requirements to IT architecture. 
    • Perform change management related activities. 
    • Responsible for the availability of configuration documents.  
    • Responsible for quality and integrity of documentation. 
    • Making database backups and performing recovery when necessary. 
    • Complete project activities within agreed timelines. 
    • Create Oracle Databases, install Oracle Software and Patches. 
    • Performing upgrades of the database and software to new release levels. 
    • Starting up and shutting down the database. 
    • Managing the database’s storage structure. 
    • Managing schema objects, such as tables, indexes, and views. 
    • Proactively monitoring the database health and taking preventative or corrective action as required. 
    • Writing PL/SQL in Oracle 11g/12c/19c and developing reports in Oracle E-business Suite R12. 
    • Develop in a structured environment using versioning control. 
    • Support existing systems by investigating, identifying, and rectifying problems. 
    • Perform test, debug and quality assure programmed code to ensure that unit testing is conducted successfully according to the function specification document, user requirements and test pack. 
    • Implement Application Extension/Customisations via Oracle Applications Framework (OAF). 
    • Submit reports within the required timeframe. 
    • Provide technical/professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives.  
    • Build, support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to enable achievement of organisational goal. Implement remedial actions where required.  
    • Plan, schedule, supervise and coach subordinate activities within processes or services to achieve efficiency and quality goals.  
    • Build stable employee relations by managing conflict and creating a positive working environment.

    Technical Skills and Experience 

    The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:  

    • A Diploma NQF Level 6 in Information Technology/ Computer Science/ Informatics is essential.  
    • Certification in Oracle Database 12C Administration or higher and/or Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate is essential.  
    • 6-8 years' operational experience in Oracle e-Business Suite is essential.  
    • Intermediate MS Office proficiency is required. 
    • Code B motor vehicle license.  
    • Oracle (ERP) proficiency level advanced.
