Minimum Requirements:

• National Diploma in Town & Regional Planning (a degree will be an advantage)
• 1 - 3 years’ experience in similar environment
• To be registered with SACPLAN within 3 years after appointment

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct site inspections relating to land development applications and law enforcement and issue contravention notices through formal correspondence and direct engagement with relevant stakeholders.
• Interpret, implement, and enforce the Land Use Scheme, SPLUMA, applicable by-laws, and other relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with the assessment and monitoring of land development applications to ensure compliance with approved conditions.
• Prepare and submit well-informed recommendations to the Manager: Land Use Contraventions.
• Adhere to prescribed standards, policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote the efficient utilisation of financial resources, minimise wastage, and identify and escalate potential risks.
• Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, ethical conduct, and customer service by fostering positive and constructive relationships with stakeholders and leading by example.
• Attend to and resolve enquiries in accordance with approved operating procedures and service delivery standards.
• Take responsibility for own performance and ensure that business objectives are achieved in accordance with prescribed response times, quality standards, and service delivery requirements.
• Maintain professional, respectful, and effective interactions with stakeholders and ensure ethical and transparent conduct at all times.
