DevOps Engineer - Stellenbosch at Capitec Bank

Purpose Statement

To operationalise the Capitec software development capability through:

• Automating and streamlining existing and new capabilities and processes to ensure that software releases are reliable, frequent, secure and scalable
• Building Continuous Improvement /Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for all capabilities, maintaining and improving existing systems and identifying requirement capabilities for systems.

Experience

Minimum:

• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a DevOps environment
• General programming and application / component design
• Acknowledged for collaborative decision making, conflict resolution and follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic Experience in designing and implementing enterprise applications.
• Basic Experience in developing and delivering systems on at least one of the following Public Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Basic Experienced in PowerShell, Go, Python, Java
• Basic Experience with authentication and Authorization technologies and protocols (LDAP, Kerberos, AD, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML). 
• Hands on development experience in relation to automation, APIs, Front End systems.
• Basic Experience developing RESTful services and Open API Specification
• Basic Experience working in a fast paced Agile/Scrum environment (Atlassian Stack).

Ideal:

• 1+ years’ experience in a DevOps OR a consultative/complex technical deployment environment 
• Basic Knowledge for Design and deployment of highly available, enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure.
• Basic Experience in Microsoft and Linux Server Operating Systems.
• Basic  Experience in expert performance monitoring/analysis and capacity planning.
• Basic Experience using the HashiCorp stack (Nomad, Vault, Consul, Terraform) 

Qualifications (Minimum)

• Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
• Certification in Software Development

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

• Certification in Cloud Computing

Knowledge

Minimum:

• Object-oriented design and development

• Working Knowledge of JSON templates.
• IT systems development processes (SDLC lifecycle).
