Appropriate Qualifications that allow for the required registration with the HPCSA in Diagnostic Radiography. Proof of original registration and current registration (2026/27) with the HPCSA as an independent practice radiographer. No experience required after registration with the HPCSA as an independent diagnostic radiographer.
Must have completed the community service as per the requirements of the professional body (HPCSA). Knowledge of Public Service Regulations, policies, Acts, and procedures governing the health sector and the Radiography profession.
Computer literacy (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel). Good patient care, sound report writing, administrative, problem-solving, and computer literacy skills. Ability to work under pressure in a changing environment.
To relieve colleagues as the need arises. Good communication skills (written and verbal). Have effective interpersonal skills, Quality Control and record-keeping skills, conflict resolution skills, and organizational and time management skills.
Compliance with Batho Pele Principles, Regulated Norms and Standards, and Ideal Clinic Realization and Maintenance Framework, Health Information Management, PMDS, Occupational Health and Safety, and Infection Prevention and Control principles.
Duties :
Participate in providing 24-hour Radiographic services in the hospital. Be part of the stand-by allocation, shift & overtime roster. Advise management on Radiography policy planning and implementation to improve service.
Coordinate and manage the daily workload and department operations. Must ensure that equipment is adequately maintained and that QC tests are performed.
Attend seminars/congresses to keep abreast with advancements in technology and techniques. Be actively involved in in-service training for students and others, as well as CPD activities. Monitor stock levels in the department/ examination room. Maintain weekly, monthly, and annual patient statistics and waiting times.
Promote teamwork and interpersonal relationships among staff members and multidisciplinary team members, and ensure that protocols, policies, and procedures align with applicable legislation.
Promote Batho Pele principles in the execution of duties for effective service delivery. To adhere to Regulated Norms and Standards and Ideal Hospital Realization and Maintenance framework, Quality Assurance, and other Public Service policies and Acts. Carry out delegated and ad hoc duties as allocated by management. Comply with the Performance Management and Development System (contracting, quarterly reviews, and final assessment).
