Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

• Teach, conduct research and community engagement to Honours, Masters and Doctoral Students. The incumbent will also manage the Research entity Food Safety and Security as Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 TEACHING:

• Classroom work (teach, assess, develop teaching material).

 RESEARCH:

• Laboratory and Field research, Supervision of M and D students. 
• Publishing.

 COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT:

• Engaged community services.

 MANAGEMENT:

• Manage resources (finance, laboratories and equipments), staff, and stakeholder relations. 

Minimum requirements

• A PhD in a relevant discipline (NQF level 10).
• A minimum of six (6) years’ experience in higher education or industry as a Professor/Senior Academic/Senior Researcher.
• Management experience.
