    Dispatch Manager (Food Manufacturing)

    • A leading pet food manufacturing company with a keen interest in the Food FMCG is seeking a Dispatch Manager to be responsible for ensuring that efficient systems and controls are in place to manage all aspects of dispatch and warehousing operations. This includes overseeing the management of costs related to staffing, breakages, shortages, and materials such as pallets and packaging. The position also involves implementing, executing, and coordinating processes and systems to ensure the smooth operation of both the warehouse and dispatch functions.

    Minimum requirements for the role:

    • Must have a relevant Supply Chain/Distribution tertiary qualification
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a warehouse environment
    • Experience within food manufacturing is critical
    • Supervisory and/or management experience is critical
    • Food Safety knowledge – FSSC 22000 is essential
    • Fluency in English (Speak and Write)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Creating, implementing, and ensuring execution of the procedures and processes related to Warehousing and Distribution.
    • Conducting physical counts of products and reconciling with data to maintain adequate inventory levels.
    • Performing daily, weekly, and monthly stock takes as planned.
    • Planning and coordinating picking and dispatch requirements for the week.
    • Monitoring, analyzing, and resolving all stock variances.
    • Liaising with maintenance on all machinery (forklift) requirements and racking in terms of general maintenance and repairs.
    • Ensuring quality control standards are being met.
    • Ensuring health and safety regulations and standards are being met.
    • Managing the dispatch team in terms of Performance, Discipline, Training, and Regulatory requirements.
    • Developing, implementing, and managing key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
    • Analyzing and reporting on all key production indicators in terms of efficiency and variances, including but not limited to Breakages, Shortages, Stock holdings: packaging and product stock, and Performance measures.
