    Divisional Accountant

    To provide expertise and advice to support the development of operational implementation plans and associated service delivery processes, methods and techniques and to perform, keep track of and report on the financial transactions of an organisational unit in accordance with financial policies and regulations, enabling informed management decision making and contributing to client / customer satisfaction, optimal profitability, reduced risk and compliance to regulatory and legislative requirements.  

    Key performance areas:

    • Review and upload of Hyperion packs received from Operations (Actuals, Budgets, Forecasts)
    • Maintenance and update of Operating company packs
    • Clear monthly Hyperion validations in conjunction with Operations
    • Assist Operations where needed in regards to their reporting requirements
    • Maintenance, update and building of the divisional Hyperion retrieve report
    • Process divisional Intercompany loan accounts (Interest run, schedules and confirmations)
    • Retrieve, reconcile and compile monthly Debtors report for the division
    • Maintain Divisional capex register and reporting thereon
    • Maintain Divisional lease register (K IFRS 16) and reporting thereon
    • Divisional Head office processing
    • Preparation of Divisional Head office HFM pack
    • Preparation of Divisional Head office balance sheet reconciliations
    • Liaise with auditors at year end Drafting of annual financial statements for Operations (Caseware)
    • Adhoc finance projects and requirements 

    Qualifications Required:

    • Minimum requirement - BCom (Accounting) (Hons), with minimum 3 years accounting and financial reporting experience post completed articles.

    Experience Required:

    • Display a sound knowledge of financial reporting and accounting conventions (IFRS).
    • Excellent computer skills - Be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and Power Point)
    • Be a self-starter, who is able to work independently and pay attention to detail
    • Display conceptual, analytical and strategic problem solving skills
    • Business acumen with strong leadership and management skills
    • Possess sound analytical and interpersonal skills and have unquestionable integrity
    • Possess excellent English verbal and written skills
    • Be willing to travel occasionally and work extended hours when required
    • Conflict management skills.
    • Minimum of three years practical experience after articles.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
    • Speed, accuracy and meticulous attention to detail is critical.
    • Ability to perform financial, statistical and technical analyses.
    • Strong performance-management focus.
    • Must be an active Team Player
    • Hands on participation required
