Draughtsman - JHB at GEA Group

Responsibilities / Tasks

• Work with design engineers and project managers to create 2D and 3D piping designs using AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Design Process & instrument diagrams, 2D & 3D layouts and construction drawings with minimal input from Engineering.
• Generate drawings according to GEA and/or customer standards.
• Review and interpret client requirements, specifications, and scope of work documents.
• Create and maintain project documentation, including design reports, schedules, and drawings.
• Support engineering in design, purchasing and site coordination.
• Collaborate with other members of the project team to ensure designs meet project requirements and specifications.
• Use technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to resolve issues related to piping design.
• Perform plant walkdowns and surveys at client sites as required.
• To liaise with site installation contractor, and to manage the installation in line with design drawings.
• Drawing Revision Management.
• Communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the following competencies:

• AutoCAD 2D
• AutoCAD 3D
• AutoCAD Plant 3D
• MS Office Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Very good problem solving skills and a customer service mindset
• Ability to travel to client sites
