Overview: To provide mechanical and electrical design services to the maintenance, project and plant managers

Duties:

• Providing mechanical and electrical design services, valid flow sheets and updated readily available technical drawings for the operation
• Making up design drawings for specific projects for maintenance department and all plant managers.
• Designing drawings in such a way that future expansion is possible.
• All new designs made to the latest technology.
• Preparing, clearing and completing accurate working plans and detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes for engineering and manufacturing projects, using CAD.
• Designing in 2D and 3D using CAD.
• Ensuring updated and readily available technical drawings for all managers
• Managing full-time third-party contractors that are responsible for managing the scrap yard.
• Ensuring that work execution is done in accordance with the requirements of the Mine Health and Safety Act, company policies, procedures, work instructions and risk management system standards, e.g. lock-out procedure.

Requirements:

• Millwright Trade would be advantageous
• N3 qualification with draughtsman training completed
• A relevant qualification in steel structure design will also be an advantage
• Minimum two years draughting experience in similar industry
• Valid driver’s licence
