Team & Technical Leadership
- Act as an overall technical lead for the development process within a DevOps team, including:
- Source code management
- Software architecture / design
- Architecture discussions
- Feature implementation
- Deployment processes and technologies
- Testing Practices and processes
- Design, develop and maintain high performance, reusable and reliable code for REST-services and API’s
- Define and implement the architectural principles, rules and technical frameworks for applications according to Daimler standards
- Support in resolving technical issues through debugging, research and investigation
- Collaborate with other Architects in the IT Hub to help establish and grow technical processes and practices
Security and Compliance
- Designing for security. Including, Identity and Access Management (IAM), data security, separation of duties (SoD) and applicable security controls
- Designing solutions, which are compliant with legal requirements POPPI Act.) corporate audit requirements
- Performing all outputs in compliance to the Company's Integrity Codes & S.H.E.Q requirements and to perform delegated S.H.E.Q tasks and duties & to inform superior about deviations
Qualifications and experience:
- Minimum NQF 7 – BSC/BCom/BTech in Information Technology, Information Systems Engineering or Computer Science or relevant equivalent
- 5+ years' experience designing and building software applications or At least 6 months participation in our Graduate Development Programme
- Proficiency with Java technologies and enterprise applications
- Experience working on complex software projects

- Must have advanced experience in Object oriented programming, data structures, software design patterns,

- Azure Authentication & Authorization
- Release Management and CI/CD pipeline deployment (ADO, ARM & Bicep)
- PowerShell & Azure CLI
Advantageous Experience
- Experience with using Open API specification for designing and consuming API’s
- Experience with integration and cloud design patterns.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
- To perform a wide variety of technical tasks including software development, errors troubleshooting, software deployment, and system and DB monitoring.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support and/or technical assistance with custom development queries
- Develop custom applications to support the core SYSPRO application as per customer requirements and not replace functionality that is already available in the core product.
- Test potential business object errors to ensuring these are logged correctly and propose enhancements to the business object and ensure these are logged accurately and forwarded to the relevant department (following the correct procedures).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Senior certificate or NQF 4 equivalent.
- Relevant Degree/Diploma in IT
- SYSPRO development experience
- Understand scripting
- Excellent SQL scripting skills
- Understanding of SYSPRO database structures and architecture preferred
- 3-5 years experience in the following:
- VB.Net
- C#
- VB scripting
- MS Microsoft Operating Systems
- MS SQL
