Mechanical Technician at Watershed Consulting

Overview: To provide technical support to the day shift personnel, ensuring maximum plant availability, efficiency, quality, and reliability. Perform root cause failure analysis and investigate production and quality related issues. Lead projects for both improvements and new developments. Shut planning and supervision.

Requirements:

• Minimum qualification of National Diploma or N6 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with 4 years of relevant experience. 
• The ideal candidate will hold a B Tech or B Eng with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Plant process and equipment knowledge
• Knowledge of Hydraulic, Pneumatic and complex mechanical systems.
• Must have sound knowledge of planned maintenance principles
• Good communication skills with ability to liaise with suppliers and colleagues on all levels

Duties:

• Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical and hydraulic- equipment
• Support Maintenance Team on breakdowns and shutdowns
• Refurbishment of specialised spares, risk identification and management thereof
• Develop contingency procedures, and do plant modifications in line with new technology
• Ensure legal compliance
• Liaise with project department and manage capital projects
• Update LRU system
• Attend meetings with suppliers
• Stores management updating item codes as needed
• Perform standby duties
• Compiling Capex’s
• Assist with continuous plant improvement
