Diesel Mechanic (Mpumalanga) at Fraser Alexander (Pty) Ltd.

PURPOSE

• This position exists to render an efficient service on maintaining of plant and equipment and adhering to safety aspects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Observe and adhere to general responsibilities

• Adhere to all employment legislation as amended from time to time.
• Adhere to the requirements of the SHEQ-C Code of Conduct.
• Adhere to all Company policies and procedures as amended from time to time.
• Attend Safety and pre-shift meetings as scheduled.
• Attend training sessions as required.

Operate and use Required Tools and Equipment skillfully and safely

• Good housekeeping practice as per company standards.

Inspections and reports

• Complete all relevant inspections and reports.
• Assist in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction.
• Report all faults and problems to the Foreman.

Safety aspects on plant and equipment

• Ensure compliance with all maintenance standard operating procedures (SOP).
• Ensure that electrical, kinetic, and potential energy are neutralized before commencing tasks.
• Do not commence with any tasks if the required safety criteria are not met.
• Report all accidents/incidents and safety deviations to the Foreman.

Maintenance of plant and equipment

• Perform planned and unplanned maintenance.
• Maintain plant and equipment to design capacity.
• Ensure that tools and equipment are kept in a safe working condition.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12.
• N3 or equivalent.
• Trade Test (red seal) as Diesel Mechanic.

EXPERIENCE

• At least three years’ experience on TMM’s in a mining environment.
