Responsibilities:
Scholar Safety & Supervision
- Oversee scholar arrivals and dismissals to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety procedures.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols in all school spaces, including classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas.
- Ensure compliance with child protection and safeguarding policies.
Scholar Transitions & Space Management
- Coordinate and oversee scholar movement across school spaces (e.g., transitions between classrooms, lunch, and extracurricular activities).
- Ensure a structured and efficient process for maintaining order during transitions.
- Support teachers and staff in managing structured transitions that minimise lost learning time.
Asset & Facilities Management
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of school assets, including furniture, IT equipment, and learning materials.
- Ensure school facilities are well-maintained and escalate maintenance concerns to relevant teams.
- Oversee the proper use and upkeep of hardware in Learning Labs.
Customer Relations & Parent Engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents regarding operational matters.
- Address parent concerns related to school logistics, safety, and aftercare.
- Ensure a high standard of customer service by training and guiding front-office staff end-to-end from enrolment.
Aftercare Program Oversight
- Manage the aftercare program, ensuring scholar safety and engagement in structured activities.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and logistics to ensure a high-quality aftercare experience.
- Monitor scholar participation and address any operational concerns.
Procurement & Resource Management
- Handle procurement of school supplies and ensure cost-effective spending.
- Work with finance teams to track spending and align with the school's budget.
- Ensure timely ordering and distribution of materials for both academic and operational needs.
Management of School-Based Operations Team
- Directly manage Supervisors during lunch and break and aftercare to ensure structured play and scholar safety
- Provide professional development to enhance the operational team's effectiveness.
Scholar Transportation Management
Qualifications and Criteria:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and criteria:
- English language fluency
- Police clearance certificate
- Completed or in the final year of a 3 or 4 year degree with current proof of registration
- First aid training (advantageous)
- Experience in operations, administration, procurement, project management, or facilities management (advantageous)
- Experience managing or working with primary school-aged children.
- Preferred: Previous experience leading a team.

Purpose of Role:
- SPARK Schools Personalised Learning Facilitators are developing educators who co-plan and co-teach lessons under the guidance of a mentor teacher. They support scholar achievement by contributing to a positive classroom environment and practising instructional delivery, while building content knowledge and pedagogical skills aligned to SPARK’s academic and cultural model.
Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum Delivery
- Co-plan and teach both in-person and distance learning lessons.

- The Education Program Lead drives student achievement and educational excellence across SPARK Schools by leading the design, implementation, and monitoring of a future-focused, inclusive, and data-informed curriculum and assessment model. This role is pivotal in aligning instruction to national standards while integrating project-based learning, character education, technology, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Leadership and Design
- Design and oversee an inclusive, interdisciplinary, and future-fit curriculum that incorporates project-based learning, SDG-related themes, and 21st-century competencies.
- Ensure alignment with national frameworks (CAPS) and SPARK’s instructional models (e.g., blended and personalised learning).
- Create subject integration maps and pacing guides, and lead the development of instructional content for the online LMS.
- Design character-based learning resources that develop SPARK values: Service, Persistence, Achievement, Responsibility, Kindness.
- Coordinate moderation plans and teacher resources that promote consistent instructional quality.
Assessment Strategy & Quality

- To engage and maintain relations with external stakeholders within the Education sphere i.e DOE, DBE, GDE, WCED, Districts, ISASA, UMALUSI, etc
- To attend district meetings and maintain a healthy relationships with subject advisors, academic compliance manager and other academic compliance officials in the DOE, DBE, GDE, WCED, Districts, ISASA, UMALUSI, etc
- Attend academic compliance meetings hosted by Umalusi, Isaasa or any other education governing body.
- To uphold, maintain and appropriately store all statutory documents and records related to school compliance.
- To identify, investigate and correct any potential compliance risks associated with the operations of our school.

Daily Responsibilities (Schools Based Context)
- Collaborate with school leadership to monitor the daily implementation of curriculum plans and assessments.
- Conduct classroom walkthroughs or lesson observations to support instructional alignment and provide real-time feedback to educators.
- Meet with grade or subject leads to review learner data, plan interventions, and adjust instructional pacing.
- Provide coaching or support to teachers on curriculum delivery, differentiation, and assessment practices.
- Review and moderate learner workbooks, assessments, and portfolios for quality and consistency.
- Support the planning and execution of daily assessment schedules (e.g., quizzes, SBAs, or internal tests).
