Mechanical Design Draughtsperson at Watershed Consulting

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Knowledge of inventor, Sigmanest and AutoCAD and its appropriate applications including 2D and 3D modelling .
• Minimum of 3years experience in the relevant field (preferably transformer industry experience)
• Mechanical workshop experience

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric/Grade 12
• National Engineering certificate/ Draughting qualification or a national engineering diploma

TECHNICAL AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES:

• Technical competency in mechanical draughting using modern drawing packages with detailed understanding of mechanical drawings and standards
• Strong work ethic including attention to detail and commitment to completing the task at hand.
• Ability to take personal responsibility for own work and actively seek for opportunity for quality improvement
• High level of computer literacy in MS Office, CAD systems and ERP Systems

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design of transformers from 2,5 MVA to 315 MVA and the voltages range of 400V to 275Kv following the company standards as per the customer’s specification
• Generate and issue all paperwork related to transformer electric design in a timely fashion and in accordance with the company quality standards.
• Perform optimized tender design with cost calculation, interpreting customer specification for medium and large distribution transformers
• Prepare bills of material
• Support the engineering and technical manager in all avenues related to transformer engineering design
• Deal with design related queries
