    Production Manager

    Job Description

    • The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety.
    • This role involves managing production schedules, supervising staff, maintaining equipment, and driving continuous improvement to meet organizational goals.
    • The role is critical in coordinating with other departments to achieve optimal production output while adhering to quality and safety standards.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    General Management:

    • Develop and implement production plans to meet sales and distribution requirements
    • Coordinate with suppliers and ensure the timely delivery of materials
    • Lead daily team meetings to align on targets and address operational issues

    Production Overview:

    • Ensure daily production targets are met and manage deviations promptly
    • Conduct regular quality control checks and address any identified issues
    • Oversee inventory levels and manage procurement in line with demand forecasts
    • To understand and monitor yields in line with the SOP

    Staff Supervision and Development:

    • Directly supervise production staff, providing coaching and guidance to enhance performance
    • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend training or development programs as needed
    • Foster a safe and motivated work environment

    Health and Safety Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations in the production environment
    • Conduct routine safety audits and implement corrective actions for any discrepancies

    Equipment Maintenance:

    • Monitor production equipment to ensure it is operating efficiently
    • Coordinate scheduled maintenance and address repairs promptly

    Reporting and Metrics:

    • Track and analyse production metrics to optimize efficiency and identify areas for improvement
    • Prepare and present reports on production performance to senior

    Maintenance Manager - (Wackys)

    Job Description

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The Maintenance Manager is responsible for establishing dedicated ownership of maintenance across Wacky's as the business expands. This role drives preventative maintenance, reduces equipment downtime and repair costs, manages service providers and contractors, supports new store openings and equipment installations, and ensures all stores and equipment are properly maintained. This is a national role (based at Durban Head Office, with travel to stores)
    • Develop, implement and manage a structured preventative maintenance programme across all Wacky's stores and equipment
    • Reduce equipment downtime and repair costs through proactive planning, inspection and fault diagnosis
    • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults on commercial fryers, refrigeration, extraction, HVAC and other QSR equipment
    • Manage and coordinate external contractors and service providers, including SLAs, call-outs, quotations and quality of workmanship
    • Support new store openings and equipment installations, ensuring stores are fully operational and trade-ready
    • Prioritise and coordinate breakdown response and maintenance requirements across multiple store locations
    • Manage and control the maintenance budget, balancing cost control with equipment reliability and uptime
    • Ensure all stores and equipment comply with relevant health, safety and operational standards
    • Hands-on, proactive and solutions-driven approach to problem solving
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise under pressure across multiple sites
    • Strong communication and relationship management skills with contractors, suppliers and store teams

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Degree or relevant tertiary/technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent trade qualification – advantageous
    • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or similar maintenance/asset management software (advantageous)
    • Experience in a multi-site QSR, restaurant or retail maintenance environment
    • Refrigeration and/or HVAC trade certification
    • Experience implementing or administering a CMMS or similar maintenance management system
    • Own vehicle and valid drivers license

    Industrial Engineer - (Wackys)

    Job Description

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The Industrial Engineer is responsible for driving operational efficiency, productivity and cost optimisation across Wacky's as the business scales.
    • The role analyses and improves store processes, workflows, labour deployment, equipment utilisation and store layouts, using data and time-and-motion studies to reduce waste, improve speed of service (SOS) and develop scalable operating standards across the business
    • Role based at the Durban Head Office, with regular store travel
    • Analyse and redesign store processes, workflows and layouts to improve efficiency and reduce waste
    • Conduct time-and-motion studies to optimise labour deployment and productivity across stores
    • Determine optimal labour requirements and staffing models for QSR stores
    • Identify capacity constraints and bottlenecks in high-volume restaurant operations using operational data
    • Develop and implement scalable SOPs and operating standards across the store network
    • Apply lean / continuous improvement methodologies to drive measurable improvements in speed of service, cost and consistency
    • Assess and improve kitchen workflow and equipment positioning to optimise throughput
    • Work hands-on in stores to test, validate and roll out process improvements
    • Hands-on and comfortable working in a store / operational environment
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
    • Able to challenge the status quo and drive change across the business

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Industrial Engineering degree – Non negotiable
    • MS Office (Advanced Excel essential)
    • Process mapping / workflow simulation tools (e.g. Visio)
    • Data analysis and reporting tools
    • Well experienced in a multi-site QSR or restaurant environment
    • Lean / Six Sigma certification
    • Experience with labour scheduling or workforce optimisation tools
    • Own vehicle and a valid drivers license

    BI Analyst and Developer - (Wackys)

    Job Description

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The BI Analyst & Developer is responsible for establishing a dedicated Business Intelligence capability within Wacky's, enabling accurate, timely and automated reporting across the business. The role develops dashboards, integrates data sources and provides actionable insights across Sales, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Maintenance and Labour, improving decision-making and reducing reliance on manual reporting as the business grows
    • Role is based at the Durban Head Office, with travel as required
    • Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards for operational and commercial reporting
    • Extract, integrate and combine data from multiple databases and systems using SQL
    • Automate manual reporting processes to improve accuracy, timeliness and efficiency
    • Develop data models and KPI frameworks for Sales, GP, EBITDA and store performance reporting
    • Analyse POS and transactional data to identify commercial insights and performance opportunities
    • Create and maintain a single source of truth for reporting across the business
    • Partner with department heads across Sales, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Maintenance and Labour to understand reporting needs and translate them into actionable dashboards
    • Commercially minded with a strong analytical mindset
    • Self-starter, able to build a new capability from the ground up
    • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

    REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics or a related field

    Restaurant Food Safety Manager

    Job Description

    • The Restaurant Food Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving food safety, cleanliness and hygiene standards across all restaurant locations.
    • The role ensures full compliance with local, national, and international food safety regulations (including HACCP, ISO 22000, and applicable health codes), protects customers and the brand from food safety risks, and embeds a culture of food safety across operations.
    • Working within the Restaurant Excellence function, the manager leads audits and inspections, drives corrective actions, partners with operations and store teams to sustain standards, and reports on food safety performance to senior leadership.

    Responsibilities : 

    • Develop, maintain, and enforce food safety policies, standards, and HACCP-based procedures across all restaurant locations.
    • Plan and oversee food safety audits and inspections; document findings and drive timely corrective and preventive actions with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance with health codes, ISO 22000, and licensing requirements.
    • Design and deliver food safety, cleanliness and hygiene training programmes in partnership with Learning & Development.
    • Investigate food safety incidents, complaints, and outbreaks; lead root-cause analysis and manage recalls where required.
    • Partner with Operations and Store Managers to embed food safety practices and drive a strong food safety culture.
    • Manage relationships with regulators, suppliers, and third-party auditors; oversee supplier food safety approval.
    • Track, analyse, and report food safety KPIs and performance dashboards to senior leadership.
    • Lead internal and external auditors to deliver results.

    Requirements : 

    • 5+ years' experience in food safety, quality assurance, or environmental health, preferably in a multi-site restaurant or hospitality environment.
    • Proven experience developing and implementing HACCP-based food safety management systems.
    • Experience conducting food safety audits, inspections, and managing corrective action programmes.
    • Track record of leading food safety incidents and outbreak investigations.
    • Experience delivering food safety training and building food safety culture across teams.
    • Degree : Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field.
    • Own vehicle and a valid driver's license.
    • Willing to travel to various sites as part of the role.
