Programme Implementation and Management

• Ensuring proper Monitoring and support instructional activities, participate in and provide staff development.  
• Have knowledge of the curriculum and evaluate the instructional practices of the ECD Teachers/ Practitioners. 
• Communicate the vision of the school to all stakeholders.   
• Maintain professional cooperative relationships. Provide opportunities for two-way communication between school, parents and the community 
• Provide activities to involve the children in all aspects of Early Childhood Education.   
• Monitor attendance and be able to report on it.  
• Maintain guidance, and Health and Food services for the children 
• Recruit competent practitioners in the department  
• Motivate and provide a positive work environment  

Management 

• Ensure that the correct children are attending the Early Childhood Development (ECD) programme 
• Ensure that the daily routine is maintained 
• Ensure that there is sufficient materials, toys, stationery and food for the children 
• Ensure outings are a success and safety is maintained accordingly in this outings  
• Create good relationships with other ECDs around the centre 

Reporting 

• Submission of monthly reports  
• Meeting deadlines of requested reports from other business units  

Administration

• Ensure that governmental health and safety regulations are maintained  
• Ensure that the ECD is hygienic and that the children are safe and healthy 

Minimum requirements

• 2-3 years as an early childhood development practitioner 
• Matric (Grade 12) 
• NQF Level 5 (ECD) 
• Diploma NQF Level 6 (ECD) – would highly advantageous  
• Previous experience in a management role would be highly advantageous
