EHS Officer at AECI Limited

Purpose of the job

• To implement and monitor effective EHS risk management and drive continuous improvement towards Beyond Zero
• To ensure EHS compliance through audits, inspections and reporting
• To enable EHS competencies within operations

Required Outputs Functions

• Conduct EHSQ risk assessments
• Develop and implement EHSQ controls
• Monitor EHSQ workplace compliance
• Updating EHS documentation
• Conduct EHSQ incident investigations, root cause analysis and facilitation of learning
• Maintain EHSQ management systems (e.g. ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO 45001)
• EHSQ performance monitoring and reporting
• Co-ordinating and facilitating EHSQ training
• Knowledge and monitoring compliance to EHSQ legal requirements (including permits and legislation)

Requirements: Qualifications and Experience

• National Diploma (safety, environmental, engineering or equivalent). BTech will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a Chemical / Manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated Risk Management Knowledge and Skills
• Facilitation and Training Skills
• Data management and interpretation
• Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
• Presentation and report writing
• EHSQ Systems – Implementation and Evaluation
• EHS Legal Framework
• Auditing and inspection
