Electrical Engineer – Nitrates at AECI Limited

Job Description    

• To manage and lead the provision of asset management of the electrical distribution network (MV and LV) within the Modderfontein complex and remote sites such as Mankwe, Steelpoort, Klerksdorp, Zommerveld and to ensure the application of AECI standards and strategy to the delivery of strategic engineering projects, maintenance, adherence to governance, compliance, and statutory requirements, and to provide specialist engineering advice to services, safety and technical areas.

Required outputs: functional

• Maintenance planning and execution.
• Execution of strategic engineering projects and change management.
• Develop and track maintenance budget and spend.
• People management of external contractors and professional services.
• Lead efforts to ensure continuous business improvement and technical support.
• Ensure compliance with governance and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environment, and Quality standards.
• Carry out standby duties on senior level.
• Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards

Qualifications & Experience    

• Matric /Grade 12.
• BSC, B Eng, BTech Degree or Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 -10 years’ experience in medium voltage reticulation environment and a proven track record of Engineering leadership experience in the maintenance and 
• project management of large Utilities plant (working on a National Key Point and MHI is advantageous and strongly recommended).
• In possession of a Government Certificate of Competency (Electrical/Factories).
• Knowledge of the OHS Act and Explosive Act.
• In depth knowledge of Electrical current fault levels, protection relays and testing thereof.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of contract management and the provision of services.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in hazard control and risk assessments.
• In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, standards and maintenance management systems (SAP PM) in a manufacturing environment.
