    Assistant Boiler Operator Learner FTC

    Job Description    

    • Boiler learner must follow safety procedures and regulations to ensure safe operations of the boilers and associated systems.
    • Responsible for the housekeeping /maintenance of the boiler ad associated auxiliaries.
    • Learner will work under the supervision of Senior Boiler Operator team, and follow their instructions as when required.
    • Learner will have to maintain various product storage tanks and report any deviations to Boiler Operators on shift.
    • Learner will be responsible to loading and offloading sodium and chemicals for process.
    • Participate in the formal training plan for the learner ship; make reasonable progress to achieve the competencies in this regard; attend the necessary training or assessments related hereto.
    • Perform duties required and make reasonable progress to achieve the competencies in the training plan.
    • To attend any training or assessment related to the boiler training plan. (Shukela Training Centre) approximately 8 weeks theoretical and regulations.

    IETP Learner FTC

    Job Description    

    • Monitoring the effluent treatment via the PLC.
    • Report any abnormal conditions to the Operations Supervisor when necessary, call discipline to correct fault, e.g. Fitters, Electricians, Instrument Technicians
    • Take extra samples and do customer composite retainer samples.
    • Monitor the sludge drying beds and manually empty dried sludge to waste skips.
    • Do plant inspections and report any abnormalities to Plant Supervisor.
    • Preparation of the area and authorisation of clearances (normal, hot work and confined space) as required for the work to be carried out.
    • Carry out mandatory gas test of a confined space area before issuing a confined space clearance,
    • Liaise with the waste-disposal company for removal and replacement of the sludge skips (call for service).
    • Liaise with customers regarding incoming wastewater that is out of agreed specification.
    • Must be able to issue or accept work clearances.
    • Monitoring incoming effluent streams, sampling and testing as required.

    Apprentice Mechanical Fitter FTC

    Job Description    

    • Acquire knowledge and skills of Artisan in your designated trade. (Mechanical Fitter Apprentice).

    Plant Accountant

    Job Description    

    Purpose of the job

    • The Plant accountant is responsible for management accounting with respect to the Operations and Physical supply chain of the business, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, accurate and complete cost allocations, and value-added analysis to support Operations and PSC
    • Ensure product costing are accurate and reflect reality of the goods produced; to provide timely and accurate financial information to shareholders and management of the AECI Chemicals division to enable them to make sound, informed decisions
    • Ensure that there are adequate internal controls covering all financial risk areas and that any inadequacies are brought to the attention of the executive

    Planning and budgeting:

    • Assist with AECI entity budget process, in conformance with the AECI guidelines and principles
    • Assist with monitoring and controlling expenditure within approved level, ensuring compliance with budgetary control procedures and policies
    • Prepare budget & forecast reports for Income Statement and Balance Sheet
    • Ensure costings for the budget are accurate and complete
    • Production hour determination based on the sales forecasts
    • Quarterly preparation and review of forecasts – updating planned expenditures where necessary

    Financial management & Reporting:

    • Compile financial information in preparing financial statements including monthly and annual reporting

    • Creation of costings for new Bill of Materials (BOMs) to ensure new products are accurately costed
    • Analyse product costings on a monthly basis to ensure that product costs reflect latest material costs and validate and approve monthly costing run

    • Authorise month end journal postings
    • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities

    Qualifications & Experience

    Process Safety Specialist

    Job Description    

    • To lead the development, implementation and maintenance of a Risk-Based Process Safety Management (PSM) System (RBPSM) for AECI Mining, in line with the PSM and EHS Strategy.
    • To drive execution and ensure continual improvement and ensure compliance with relevant procedures, legislation and international standards.
    • The ultimate objective being the prevention of serious and catastrophic process safety incidents across AECI local and global operations.

    Required outputs: functional

    • RBPSM Execution Plan development and system implementation in line with AECI Group PSM
    • Review (baseline and periodic) of the AECI Mining RBMSM system followed by action plans, implementation and tracking.

    Explosive Engineer

    Job Description    

    • The incumbent has a key role within AECI Mining as a direct link with the customer.
    • Quality measurements and records are maintained of all production activities on site
    • and any technical requirements by the customer are acknowledged.
    • Charging, timing and blast results are recorded and a trend line versus a target is measured, analysed and any recommendations are captured to assist AECI Mining in providing constructive feedback to help improve the cost effectiveness at the customer operations.

    • Continuously monitor and provide feedback to the relevant Regional Manager on market intelligence, which forms the base for identifying key strategic issues facing customer portfolios.
    • Compile and maintain Key Account Management Plans (KAMP) through the use of the Sales Process consistent with the AECI Mining strategy and objectives.
    • Differentiate AECI MINING service and products by identifying and implementing value adding activities beneficial to all customers (including non-business customers such as CIE and IOM and AECI Mining.
    • Set and implement KAMP’s to ensure achievement of the market and sales objectives.
    • Establish long term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers on individual mines.
    • Provide excellent service on all aspects of explosive and accessory products and their uses, including auditing of product application and performance underground and giving recommendations to correct deficiencies. Complaints from customers to be handled swiftly and competently to their satisfaction.
    • Determine and prepare the product sales budget, and in conjunction with the Regional Manager decide the appropriate product mix to achieve maximum trading product, market share and other business parameters. Achievement to be measured by means of the balance scoreboard and market share.
    • Compile annual operating cost budget and submit to Regional Manager for approval. Monitors cost on a monthly basis through balanced scoreboard and ensure operation within agreed budget and justification for over expenditure.
    • Ensure compliance with AECI Mining Safe Working Practices, the OSH Act, the Explosives Act and the Minerals Act.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Tertiary mining qualification, e.g. B.Sc. Mining Engineering or National Higher Diploma and a Mine Overseers or Managers Certificate.
    • Must have completed the Explosives Engineer course
    • Must have technical experience of at least three years in a mining environment

    Job Description    

    • Supervise the workforce and the production process so that volume targets are met within budgeted costs.
