Job Overview:

• The Electrical Engineer will design, implement, and maintain electrical systems for telecom networks, ensuring reliable power supply to base stations, towers, and data centers. The role involves overseeing power systems, including generators, UPS, and energy-efficient solutions, while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Design: Design and implement electrical power systems for telecom sites, including distribution networks and backup systems.
• Power Supply Management: Ensure stable power sources and manage installation, testing, and commissioning of systems.
• Energy Efficiency: Recommend and implement energy-saving solutions, including renewable energy.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Resolve electrical issues affecting network infrastructure and support site engineers.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all systems comply with local codes and safety standards.
• Project Management: Lead electrical projects, ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery.
• Site Inspections: Conduct audits to ensure system integrity and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Certifications: Professional Engineer (Pr Eng), Electrical safety certifications (e.g., SANS 10142).
• Experience: 5+ years in electrical engineering within telecom, including UPS and power systems.
• Skills: Knowledge of electrical systems, energy-efficient technologies, and project management.

Desirable:

• Skills: Project management, renewable energy design, and troubleshooting.
• Tools: Familiarity with AutoCAD, ETAP, DigSilent for system designs.
• Driver’s License: Valid South African driver’s license (Code 8 or higher).
