Electrical Foreman Winders at Implats

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: 

• To supervise and assist the team in the safe execution of all electrical activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12/ STD 10/ NQF Level 4 is essential
• Recognized relevant Trade qualification (section 13/26D) is essential OR NTC 2 (Relevant Trade Theory) Qualification is essential.
• Minimum of 5 years working experience as an Electrical Foreman Winders is essential.
• Completed Impala HT modules and Winder modules is essential.
• Computer literacy (MS Office package and SAP) is essential.
• Experience on PLC systems is essential.
• Conveyor, main pump station and lamp room experience is essential.
• HT reticulation experience is essential.
• Maintenance on large DC machinery and thyristor converters is essential.
• Thorough understanding of frequency drives on winders is essential.
• Valid Medically Certificate or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate

COMPETENCIES:

• Legal knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act is essential.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Supervise electrical maintenance activities.
• Inspect, maintain, repair, and do fault-finding on Winders.
• Maintain and supervise Electrical workshop, stores, and substations.
• Attend to callouts with regards to electrical breakdowns.
• Control and order stock for all parts, equipment and materials required.
• Design and construct single phase circuits and three phase circuits.
• Construct, install, commission, and maintain low and medium voltage networks.
• Construct, install, commission, and maintain large DC machinery and thyristor converters
• Construct, install, commission, and maintain single phase AC and three phase AC machines and control gear.
• Inspect, maintain, repair, and do fault-finding on Medium Voltage networks.
• Inspect electrical main substations and main pump stations.
• Maintain unit protection devices on transformers.
• Trouble shoot on programmable logic controllers.
• Operate on low voltage networks.
• Write Technical reports.
