Exciting opportunity for an Energy Analyst to join a highly diversified energy group that specializes in later-stage, conventional energy projects (oil & gas), as well as renewables.

The Energy Analyst plays a key role in the evaluation of the economics of projects we work on. The ideal candidate will have an interest in and aptitude for understanding the sensitivities of the African energy deal landscape and the relationship between returns and commercial risks. The role reports into the CEO but also into the Head of Business Development.

Primary Responsibilities

• Optimize existing and/or build new financial models to model long-term financial returns from energy projects
• Provide support to the Business and Project Development teams by modelling projects being developed and assisting in optimising the returns for all parties
• Follow developments in the market for funding models including equity funding, debt funding

Required Skills

• Experience in energy projects
• Excel-based financial modeling skills
• Strong interest in African energy landscape

Qualifications, Experience

• Finance/Financial Analysis/Portfolio Management Degree
• Proven ability to develop and run Excel-based financial models
• Experience with conventional and renewable energy modelling
• Project Finance modelling is a strong advantage
• Experience in a banking or investment management environment strongly favored
• Several years’ experience is a must
