Minimum Requirements    

• BEng, BSc, or BTech in Civil Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
• 5 years of relevant experience in civil design and maintenance (Essential/Minimum)
• Experience in hazard identification and risk assessment
• Proficiency in project engineering, procurement, and project management
• Certificate in Safety Management (Recommended/Desirable)
• Diploma in Project Management (Recommended/Desirable)
• First Line Management Certificate (Recommended/Desirable)
• Candidacy with Engineering Council of South Africa (Recommended/Desirable)
• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Strong understanding of compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Provide expert technical support for civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with design standards and best practices.
• Oversee the execution of engineering designs, ensuring their fit for purpose and alignment with project objectives.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of safety and quality management systems, ensuring adherence to applicable legislation and standards.
• Collaborate with team members and external stakeholders to foster innovation and enhance departmental service delivery within budget constraints.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure operational safety and project success.
• Manage project budgets, control costs, and evaluate financial efficiency while delivering high-quality technical outputs.
• Engage in continuous learning and integrate technological advancements to improve the technical base and support business delivery.
• Ensure effective management of customer and client relationships, providing valuable technical support and direction as needed.
• Contribute to a high-performance culture by adhering to company values and supporting initiatives for performance excellence.
• Drive process improvements by standardizing and simplifying functional processes to eliminate duplication and enhance efficiency.
