Engineer: Control & Instrumentation at RCL Foods

Job Description    

• RCL FOODS is seeking a skilled Engineer: Control and Instrumentation to join our Sugar Business Unit. The role will be based at the Malelane  Mill  in Mpumalanga and will report into the Engineering Manager.

Minimum Requirements    

• BSc/BTech/BEng/National Higher Diploma in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering
• 5 years working experience as an Instrument Engineer in the Sugar industry
• Must be suitably computer literate.
• Must demonstrate capability to successfully implement plant improvement projects
• Strong leadership qualities
• Wonderware, project Management and SAP experience will be an added advantage.

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Management of the Instrumentation department.
• Providing hands-on technical guidance in plant control system development.
• Ensuring that the plant maintenance and project objectives are achieved within the operational, engineering, financial and statutory constraints through optimal use of people and resources.
• Driving the development process of the process control system with particular focus on automated exception reporting and self-diagnosis.
• Cost control and budget management.
• Assuring statutory compliance.
• Assuring Instrumentation plant integrity and reliability.
• Responsible for the implementation of projects as required.
