    Engineer - Modikwa Mine

    About the Job
    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric certificate/ equivalent
    • B (Eng.) Mechanical or Electrical
    • Section 2.13.3.1 appointee
    • Government Certificate of Competency
    • 5 years’ TM3 Mining Experience

    Experience, Knowledge & Skills

    • Knowledge of environmental, health and safety standards
    • Vertical shaft operations and maintenance
    • Construction project management
    • Equipment installation, operation and maintenance in underground conventional and trackless mining sections
    • Working knowledge of the Mine Health & Safety Act and Regulations
    • Working knowledge of Codes of Practice and Working Guides

    Risk management experience

    • Hands on approach & participation
    • Trackless machine maintenance
    • Contracting experience
    • Client Management and functional support

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Lead and effectively manage the engineering function ensuring full compliance to all applicable legislation and business plan outcomes
    • Implement standards, procedures and working guidelines
    • Monitor and measure compliance
    • Develop initiative to obtain competitive advantage
    • Determine equipment criteria and standards
    • Manage the SHEQ standards onsite
    • Review plant performance
    • Ensure optimum plant productivity
