• An opportunity has become available for an Engineering Manager to join the Snackworks Westmead team, reporting directly to the Operations Executive. The main purpose of the role includes the maintenance and engineering effort for the plant including Safety and Risk Compliance; Plant Equipment Availability and Performance; Utilities and Energy Management; Budget Development; and People Management.

Duties and Responsibilities

SHE

• GMR(2)1 site appointment
• Support the SHE Manager with risk audits, site security, ISO 45000 accreditation, MHI certification and fire systems compliance with ASIB regulations
• Municipal and legal site compliance

Maintenance Budget

• Compile annual maintenance budget
• Compile five-year site strategic maintenance budget, including facilities and utilities upgrades for CAPEX
• Monthly maintenance cost control and reporting
• Cost reduction initiatives
• Spares management and control

Plant and Services Availability

• Equipment availability management
• Equipment MTBF and MTTR improvement
• Equipment shutdown management and PM schedules
• Co-ordinate OEM support on critical equipment

Maintenance Department Performance

• KPI’s tracking and reporting
• Foreman, Engineer, Planner and artisan leadership, training and development
• Focused efforts resulting in sustained plant and equipment performance and reliability
• CMMS system configuration and improvement

Maintenance Systems Improvement and Strategy

• Maintenance strategy and tactical approach
• Implementation of formalised problem solving techniques
• Support World Class Manufacturing strategy with specific focus on 5-S, Plant Maintenance, Focused Improvement and Continuous Improvement
• Alignment of Team structure to match strategy
• Review and improvement of existing maintenance practises
• Implementation of condition monitoring activities

Utilities Management

Water and energy reporting and sustainability improvement
Compressed air, LPG, steam, water, effluent, electricity, generators and infrastructure maintenance
Building and facilities

Experience and Qualifications Required:

• A minimum 8 years’ experience as an Engineering Manager within the FMCG or Manufacturing industry
• Completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc. / B.Eng.)
• Post-graduate degree advantageous
• Certificated Engineer (GCC Factories) essential
• Hands-on experience with regards to the operation and maintenance of packaging machines, bulks services and utilities
