• The purpose of this role is to ensure environmental compliance.

Skills and Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Degree in Environmental Management or related fields
• Computer literate

• Must be able to adapt his / her plans to suite any changes.
• Must be aware of all safety related issues.
• Working knowledge and understanding of all environmental related legislation.
• Must be able to organize and lead.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Valid driver’s license and acquainted driver.

Experience

• Relevant experience
• Mining as well as mine rehabilitation experience will be added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Manage enviro-legal processes required for existing projects.
• Ensure compliance with enviro-legal licenses and management plans for the operations.
• Develop / implement long term environmental plans for the mine.
• Development and implement the Environmental Management Programme to address and mitigate environmental responsibility through to mine closure.
• Ensuring environmental targets are maintained.
• Proactive approach to all environmental related issues.
• Mentoring and coaching of interns.
