Environmental Technician - Durban at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To provide technical expertise and support on the environmental management and computers to the environmental scientist/engineer and other branches within the department.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Provides technical support to the environmental scientist/engineer.
• Provide assistance and technical support to the branches.
• Provides end user and computer support to the branch.
• Provide project management to the environmental division.
• Provide technical training for the section on the environmental management and 
• rehabilitation.
• Driving and maintaining a vehicle.
• Undertake related assignments.

Essential Requirements    

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Environmental Science or Environmental Management or Biology  or Chemistry or Biochemistry or equivalent.
• Appointees will be required to obtain the Peace Officer Certificates within 18 months of assumption of duty.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 2 Years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements    

• Bachelor of Science Degree (NQF Level 7) in Environmental Science or Environmental
• Management or Biology or Chemistry or Biochemistry or equivalent.
• Accredited Peace Officer in terms of the Criminal Procedures Act.
• 3 years relevant experience.
