• Ecolab is seeking a Equipment Technician/ Applications Specialist to join its industry leading Food & Beverage team. This is an mid level sales position responsible for selling Food & Beverage products/services by interacting with established customers and developing new sales prospects. We are increasing food safety and product quality, enhancing sustainability and boosting operational efficiency. We provide cleaning and sanitation solutions to food, beverage, and dairy manufacturing environments through a dual focus on sales and technical service/consultation to new and existing customers.

What You Will Do

• Execute Service strategy surveys, process checks and reporting through
• Execute Service strategy surveys, process checks and reporting by consulting with customers on chemical, technical & application issues
• Execute field trials, reporting & training
• Establish, verify & document hygiene plans and their parameters through regular customer visits
• Assist with all customer needs
• Install and repair equipment at the customer's plant
• Ensure equipment machine maintenance goals established by the customer
• Support introduction of new programs and service concepts to customers
• Achieve monthly safety metrics and input safety data into the company's system
• Establish new ways of improving service
• Provide recommendations related to safety standards and protocol

Position Details

• Candidate must reside in: Cape Town with extensive travel required.

Minimum Qualifications

Technical:

• National Diploma in electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering

• Preferred to have some experience in Food and Beverage segments and cleaning and sanitation chemistry
• Experience with electrical control panels – ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
• Basic experience with PLC’s (Preferably Siemens)
• Experience with instrumentation and control systems
• Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and/or aptitude in electricity and mechanical systems
• Technical degree in mechanical, electrical, electromechanical field or related field, or university student of engineering
• 3 years of experience in technical roles in Food & Beverages plants;
• Exposure to MS Office, including Excel and Word
• Willingness and ability to work off hours
