    Equities Settlement Analyst

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    You will work in partnership with various stakeholders both, internally and externally, performing critical daily BAU functions, as well as collaborating with management and peers to automate and improve processes that supports our core business.  In addition in this role you will provide support where necessary to the delivery of the business objectives & provide professional post trade service support across our line of business.

    As a Equities Settlement Analyst in Markets operations team you'll provide support on a variety of initiatives by analyzing existing processes, identifying process gaps, identifying areas for improvement, and participate in the appropriate controls for each. You'll support business partner deliverables, including SA Equity Settlement management in term of JSE rules and Directives, COAC processing, SBL activities and Conversion processing as well as demonstrating adherence to established procedures while demonstrating an in-depth working knowledge of the entire post trade service process.

    Job Responsibilities

    •  Work with business partners to ensure consistency in managing any settlement exceptions / recon breaks.
    •  Perform daily critical Settlement management functions as well as post trade service processes including SBL , Corporate actions and conversions to foreign registers of      South African listed Equities.
    •  Work in an environment that offers a wide degree of creativity and latitude with the expectation of high performance and results.
    •  Interact with and manage vendor relationships.
    •  Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills  

    Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

    •  Three to five years’ experience highly desired; focus on equity,  settlement management as well as corporate actions processing and knowledge.
    •  Advanced skills in MS Office, including Excel.
    •  BDA / SLAMS experience is highly desired.
    •  Customer service, team and goal-oriented, enhanced by a high sense of urgency and professionalism.
    •  Excellent analytical skills with close attention to detail
    •  Excellent communication and people skills used to drive self and teams to get tasks completed.
    •  Ability to effectively interact with all levels of business.
    •  Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders.

    Preferred qualifications, capabilities , and skills

    •  Ability to present a professional image and demeanor to internal/external customers and team members.
    •  Ability to coach and mentor team members by demonstrating job knowledge and constantly displaying professionalism.
    •  SOUTH AFRICAN SETTLEMENT OFFICER EXAM preferred.
    •  Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to handle working within strict timelines.
