    Estimation Co-ordinator

    • Ackermans is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Estimator to join our Operations Support Team in Kuilsriver. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the Properties Department by compiling accurate costings, identifying cost trends, and coordinating procurement for new store openings and store-related projects. You'll also contribute to ad hoc initiatives that keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Compilation of projected project costing through:

    • Gathering of proposals, blueprint, specifications and related document
    • Analysing of information and identifying material, time and cost requirements
    • Evaluating product cost effectiveness and profitability
    • Setting up and maintaining of a cost data base

    Manage the relationship with equipment suppliers through:

    • Obtaining quotations in line with authorised costing
    • Ordering of goods
    • Negotiating delivery dates with suppliers
    • Follow-up on discrepancies – Goods not delivered, incorrect quantities received
    • Compilation, analysis and interpretation of:
    • Purchasing trends
    • Competitor reports
    • Benchmarking – supplier, product, service deliveries’ evaluation
    • Conducting post project analysis through estimation vs actual projects and prepare cost and expenditure statements

    What We’re Looking For:

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Solid understanding of building drawings
    • Familiarity with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contract terms
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • High level of accuracy and numerical proficiency
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with supervision
    • Deadline-driven with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
    • Effective communicator across all levels of the business
    • Strong project management skills
    • Reporting (Estimation vs Actual)

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Grade 12(Matric Certificate)
    • Certificate or Diploma in Cost & Estimation or equivalent
    • Project Management course completed
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an Estimator role
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Project Administration
