Excavator Operator (Eckraal) at Afrimat

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Matric / Grade 12
• Valid driver’s license
• Technical/Core Training: Valid Excavator Competency Certificate
• 2 years’ + experience in a mining environment
• Ability to distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites
• Be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Safe operation of excavator inside mining area
• Handling and / or moving of material
• Effectively communicate with all site personnel
• Daily pre-start inspections on excavator
• Reporting of any breakdowns / defects
• Keep the machine clean
