    Exchange Control Officer

    The Role Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely completion of processing actions for all CMO products.
    • Regular management of various queues throughout the day to ensure that transactions are processed on a timely manner.
    • Timely resolution and escalation of issues that would result to client complains or pose a risk to the bank.
    • Adherence on the prevention of money laundering and business contingency under the Group’s Policy & Standards, and under local laws and regulations.
    • Manage customer service by ensuring timely execution of transactions.
    • Processing of call deposit transactions including placing, withdrawal and interest application.
    • Performing pre-processing checks.
    • Processing of back office transactions.
    • Scanning of manual OTT transactions and performing call backs.
    • Process manual Journals on behalf of branch.
    • Sending BOP requests to clients’, management of ITT queue to ensure that the requests are sent out to clients on time and monitoring generic email to ensure that BOP forms received from clients are sent to GBS on a timely manner.
    • Reconciliation of Nedbank account and all other sundry and suspense tagged to CMO.
    • Management of INT queues for incoming ACH payments to ensure that they are cleared on time.
    • Review queues throughout the day and liaise with GBS to ensure that transactions are tracked and processed on time without missing cut-off times especially for ZAR payments.
    • Timely escalation to management of incidents, issues which could lead to customer complaints and operational losses.
    • Act as maker for any transactions that are processed in country.
    • Manage the escalation of queries on incoming funds that default to manual queues.
    • Manage the handling of adhoc queries from businesses and other internal units relating to the processing of transactions at CMO.
    • Ensure adherence to Group policies and procedures.
    • Look for possible system/process enhancement and innovation opportunities and follow through for implementation.
    • Manage CMO related projects end to end (as allocated by unit Head).
    • Participate in testing and UVTs for any system enhancement/changes most of which are done over the weekends or non-working hours.
    • STS: Status Monitoring, Reconciliation, Rejections.
    • AMH: Monitoring & Loading Instructions
    • FCP: FCS Reconciliation
    • RCP: Gateway Fee and Pacs009 Capture Pacs008 Capture
    • Assist with Production Orders if required

    Our Ideal Candidate:

    • Sound knowledge of SWIFT Message Standards and CMO processing systems, especially ISO20022 and SC Pay systems.
    • Good communication, interpersonal and people management skills.
    • At least 1 years of banking experience and experience in CMO activities.
    • Knowledge of Group’s CMO policy and procedures.
    • Good knowledge of Group’s CMO and sanctions policies and procedures.
