    Apprentice (Diesel Mechanic) - Kokstad

    Responsibilities and Duties 

    • Participate in the training plan for the apprenticeship
    • Perform duties required and make reasonable progress to achieve the competencies in the training plan
    • As instructed, undertake and attend any training or assessment related to the training plan
    • Keep the training record (logbook) in possession, and produce it to the employer and/or training provider, when requested

    Diesel Mechanic - Kokstad

    TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Diesel Mechanic within the Trade Division at Kokstad, KwaZulu-Natal. 

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Reassemble agricultural equipment following repair; test operation; and make adjustments as necessary
    • Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions
    • Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools
    • Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, machines, welding equipment, grinders, or saws
    • Inspect or test parts to determine nature or cause of defects or malfunctions
    • Recommend product or component design improvements based on data and observations
    • Maintain test equipment in operational condition by performing routine maintenance or making minor repairs or adjustments as needed
    • Complete all documentation including worksheets, certificates, receipts and applying signatures as appropriate
    • Inspect equipment for safety prior to use, and perform necessary basic maintenance tasks

    • Bag, box, wrap merchandise and prepare packages for shipment
    • Compute and record transactions

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Read and interpret drawings
    • Manufacturing of maintenance spares for the sawmilling industry
    • Turning and machining of various components including multistart, buttress, square, acme, metric and imperial threads
    • Identifying different types of threads and their use in the industry
    • Machining to standard tolerances
    • Identifying of different types of bearings their application and the fitting of such bearings
    • Knowledge of inline, radicon and crofts gearboxes, the assembly and repair thereof
    • Fitting of keys, bushes, pins, gears, sprockets and alignment of various types of couplings including tyre couplings, spider couplings, gear couplings, flange couplings, etc.
    • Do maintenance checklists
    • Assist with maintenance planning
    • Identify problematic machinery and inform management thereof
    • Always maintain a safe working environment
    • After repairing machinery in conjunction with production personel, ensure that the machine is working according to the required standard

    Position Overview

    • As the Company Secretary at TWK Agri, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring effective corporate governance, compliance with statutory regulations, and seamless communication between the company's board of directors, management, and stakeholders. You will oversee a diverse range of administrative and legal functions critical to the smooth operation of the organisation.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Advise the board of directors on corporate governance best practices and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies
    • Organize and facilitate board and committee meetings, including preparing agendas, compiling meeting materials, and documenting minutes
    • Maintain accurate records of board decisions and actions, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
    • Facilitate induction of new board members
