Executive: Business Finance at Ithala Development Finance Corporation Limited

Reporting to the Group Chief Executive, the Executive: Business Finance will provide strategic direction in the management of loan assessments, pre-investment support and post-investment support in order to ensure that clients are able to effectively establish, manage and grow their business. 

The Executive: Business Finance will: 

• Develop and lead the implementation of the Business unit’s strategic and operational plans, policies and procedures. 
• Direct loans and projects relevant to business loan applications and pre-investment support services. 
• Direct loan post-investment support services. 
• Build effective strategic relationships with stakeholders to ensure growth of the business unit. 
• Manage Capex and Opex to ensure financial sustainability. 
• Manage human capital through effective performance management and employee development and empowerment related to the business unit. 

The following minimum requirements should be met to be considered: 
Qualifications:

• Post graduate qualification in Finance/Business Management/Commercial Law or an equivalent post graduate qualification. 
• MBA will be advantageous. 

Experience:

• 8-10 years’ experience in a financial institution (banking, development finance and economic development of which 5-7 years should be at a senior management level.

Requisite Functional Competencies: 

• Computer literacy in Ms Office package. 
• Knowledge and experience in financial planning and forecasting. 
• Knowledge and understanding of Public Financial Management Act. 
• Knowledge of corporate governance principles. 
• Knowledge of risk management concepts, frameworks and methodology. 
• Knowledge of credit risk assessment, due diligence and financial modelling. 
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g. Banks Act, FAIS, FICA and NCA. 
• Knowledge of financial management and investment packaging. 
• Knowledge of fraud prevention strategies.
