    Executive Head: Digital Transformation

    Role Purpose

    The Executive Head: Digital Transformation role based within Commercial Operations. Leading the Digital First programme for Vodacom by setting the ambition, pace of change and priorities of the program. Enabling Vodacom’s journey to become a Digital TechCo with a clear vision to deliver the most engaging customer experience, and digital resilience of a Tech organization.

    Your Responsibilities Will Include
    Define the Digital Transformation ambition and priorities while continuously reassessing “what success looks like”

    • Monitor external trends to assess current focus and identify new areas.
    • Re-set and rethink our ambition as we progress in the transformation

    Lead the value creation of the Digital Transformation program identifying areas of opportunity and risk

    • Define and re-assess the dimensions to track the Digital Transformation value creation in conjunction with Vodafone Group and key business stakeholders.
    • Share Digital progress with main stakeholders highlighting opportunities and risks.
    • Facilitate best practice sharing.

    Define and facilitate the key digital enablers to support Digital Transformation

    • Develop and Implement Agile Adoption Strategy and adoption.
    • Constantly look for new approaches to enable digital transformation e.g. Human Centred Design, Lean start-up, Data & Insights.
    • Foster an understanding of and adherence to Agile principles especially through leading by example.
    • Leading teams toward further understanding and adoption of Digital Transformation enablers.

    Supporting the Change from a Telco to Techco i.e. digital change management

    • Ensures the readiness, adoption and embedding of a change within the areas of impact
    • Ensure successful implementation and adoption of the change initiatives.
    • Use techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency and promote a culture of experimentation and innovation

    Define an effective Governance Structure to monitor Digital Transformation

    • Define monthly Digital SteerCo agenda setting critical decision points
    • Set and regularly reassess the program Governance for effective delivery
    • Ensure the achievement of agreed/desired Digital Transformation business benefits/outcomes

    The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

    • Matric – Essential
    • 3 year Business related Degree or National Diploma essential or MBA.

    Minimum Of 8 To 10yrs Relevant Experience.

    • Experience in Digital Transformation Strategy.
    • Experience in Agile ways of working.
    • Experience in Organizational culture change.
    • Previous experience in a top Strategy. Consulting firm or in a Corporate Strategy role
    • Highly analytical and numerate, quick thinker, optimistic attitude and strategic mind-set.
    • Excellent communication, influencing & negotiation skills.

    Minimum Of 4-5yrs Leadership/Management/Supervisory Experience (essential).

    • International experience advantageous
    • Experience in Digital Transformation, Design Thinking and Data Driven approaches.
    • Expert on Agile practices and ways of working
    • Deep expert in programme management
    • Prior experience in Agile transformations
    • Natural “servant” leader with excellent written and verbal communications skills to drive alignment with the DT vision.
    • Strong business acumen with in-depth understanding of the contribution of the domain to the wider business strategy.
    • Understanding of both the current Telecommunications and Digital Services market and emerging business trends.
