Description
The Executive Head of Finance will:
Work closely with the CEO and Exco team.
Ensure accurate and sound financial management practices, including monitoring and reporting to ensure that the organisation complies with acceptable auditing and accounting practices.
Oversee financial planning processes and projections, including the annual budgeting process, long-term financial planning and monthly or quarterly forecasts.
Follow the strategy / financial management procedures set by the Group’s Head Office and the guidelines of local regulators.
Ensuring that appropriate policies and procedures are in place and embedded to meet group and local financial management requirements.
Responsible for the production and integrity of the Group’s financial information and its regulatory reporting in respect of its regulated activities.
Supporting the CEO in achieving the strategic objectives of the organisations.
Oversee all financial and accounting processes in line with IFRS and other accounting and reporting best practices and standards.
Maintaining ongoing effective relationships with the External Auditors on all parts of the audit from planning stage to final sign off for the Group.
Assist in achieving the Asset and Liability strategy as set by the Asset Liability and Liquidity Management Committee.
Escalating promptly to Exco any breaches of limits and material risk exposures that may potentially place the business at risk.
Responsible for ensuring integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial data.
Responsible for other matters as determined by the CEO.
Candidate's Profile
Key Requirements:
Must be a CA (SA)
At least 8 years of work experience in financial accounting within the Financial Services/Banking sector, at an executive level.
Must have in-depth knowledge of the South African regulatory framework and reporting requirements, accounting methodologies, prudential ratios, and tax-related matters.
Strong Financial Leadership experience.
