    Exploration Manager

    About the job

    The Exploration Manager will coordinate and supervise all exploration activities on the DRC territory.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and supervise all exploration activities including drilling, geological, geophysical and geochemical data acquisition, data processing, data storage, calculation of reserves and land tenure and exploration permit management
    • Oversee the implementation of company standards, policies and best practices at the Exploration site
    • Ensures incident response plans are in place, reporting requirements met, and compliance with legislated workplace safety laws
    • Ensures ongoing exploration programs meets the company’s objectives
    • Develops exploration models and assists in the planning of exploration programs
    • Reviews and manages budgets
    • Generates new projects and helps select new targets
    • Evaluate and recommend mineral resource potential acquisitions
    • Motivate and engage the Exploration team
    • Determine best organization, roles and responsibilities, and delegate appropriately
    • Manage a team of professionals including mentoring and motivation.
    • Ensure adherence to safety, health environmental and quality standards
    • Identifying the risks in their work area and provide corrective measures
    • Ensure personnel are adequately inducted in their work area and are aware of all workplace rules and critical procedures applying at ERGA
    • Inspect all work areas before work commences and ensure all JSA or HIRA area available.
    • Ensure all SWPS, SOPs, PTOs, JSA, HIRA are up to standard and filed.

    Essential Qualifications

    • University degree in B.Sc.; M.Sc. preferred
    • An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in Geosciences.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience, including 5 years’ experience at senior level in the management of greenfield and brownfield exploration projects with mine operations / production experience an asset

    Knowledge and Experience

    • Advanced knowledge of contract administration
    • Knowledge of Indigenous culture to foster and maintain good working relationships
    • Strong leadership, management, communication, and project management skills
    • Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices, policies and procedures
    • Ability to coordinate, direct, and evaluate team members
    • Ability to drive for results through planning, alignment and execution
    • Ability to make optimal decisions through accountability, judgement and problem solving
    • Ability to build working relationships through respect & integrity open communication, and teamwork
    • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels
    • Confident communicator with senior management, legal entities and external stakeholders
    • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
