Explosives Operator Gr 1 - Delay Manufacturing (D3) x7 at Sasol

Purpose of Job

• To reduce the diameter of a lead stubby and to cut delay elements into the required cut lengths. Compliance with all SHERQ procedures in daily operations.

Key Accountabilities

• Assemble and Operate 2 main Machines (Drawbench and Traub)
• Do fault findings on the machines for any deviations from the setup
• Reduction of delay stubby into a required diameter using draw bench machines
• Perform quality checks on drawn tubes and cut element using Shadowgraph machine to ensure that all units meet the specified cut length
• Housekeeping to maintain 5s standards
• Do stock count of all the raw material in the production area
• Do visual inspection and use relevant measurement tools and capture information on the Lot Traveler
• Completion of production documents
• Movement of cut elements into the heated storage area

Formal Education

• Grade 12 or Equivalent with Maths & Science 

Working Experience

• 2+ years of experience in Explosives Manufacturing
• Plant specific experience (Delay Manufacturing – D3) will be an added advantage
