Our client in the Western Cape is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Farm Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of fruit production, with a focus on pome fruit
Minimum requirements:
Matric certificate (Grade 12) is essential
A relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture (degree or diploma), or completion of well-recognised agricultural courses
Minimum of 3 to 5 years proven experience as a Farm Manager, preferably in large-scale pome fruit production – apples, pears, or at least citrus (100Ha)
Practical knowledge of:
Fertilization programs and nutrient management
Crop protection strategies and pest control
Irrigation systems and scheduling
Familiarity with SEDEX/SMETA audits, Global G.A.P. standards, and workforce compliance management
Experience in labour audits and good understanding of labour legislation (basic knowledge of labour law is essential)
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and drive productivity
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and implement effective problem-solving strategies
Proficient in basic Microsoft Excel (data capturing, productivity tracking, and reporting)
Fluent in Afrikaans and English (spoken and written)
A passion for rural living and working in a farm environment
