    Farm Manager – Sugar Cane & Macadamia

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Degree or Diploma in Agriculture / Agribusiness /Agronomy highly advantageous of 10 years’ experience in a similar position
    • Sound Technical Knowledge and experience in Crop Farming and Farm Operations
    • Knowledge on Irrigation (Centre pivot & Linear Irrigation Systems)
    • Able to manage conflict and grievance resolution
    • Proven management experience
    • Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
    • Computer Literate
    • Zulu/Xhosa or Swazi proficient

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

    • Planning, scheduling, and overseeing all day-to-day operations, including: planting, harvesting and maintenance of crops
    • Directly Managing all farm personnel (including hiring and training), field work, machinery operations, technical and mechanical tasks
    • Ensuring safe working conditions
    • Implement and review farm development plans to ensure long term productivity, yield and quality
    • Implement and maintain efficient production processes and procedures
    • Establish and monitor crop growth, yield and quality and make necessary adjustments to optimise yields
    • Develop test fields for crop and variety trials
    • Prepare, schedule, execute and record agreed chemical, fertilizer, and spray programmes
    • Prepare and control budget for all farm operations, including direct costs, labour, equipment, and machinery repairs and maintenance
    • Monitor the budget and report thereon
    • Manage repairs and maintenance of Farm implements, equipment, machinery, tractors, and structures
    • Ability to maintain and report on accurate records, data, and documents as required
    • Operate with a hands-on, detailed, practical and solutions driven approach and able to execute independently
    • Responsible for Procurement and management of key relationships
    • Ensure compliance with government regulations, health, and safety standards.
    • Analyse existing operations, crops, staff, and processes and recommend improvements
