Field Engineer- Electrical Instrument Control at AECI Limited

Required outputs: functional 

• Manage the process of fault find and repair of Plant & Equipment that is in construction on capital projects.
• Design work: Translate customer requirements into engineering requirements, with particular focus on Electrical Engineering, Control and Instrumentation. Provide engineering input during project definition phase.
• Provide project costing with the service from with Sourcing and Procurement resources, with particular focus on Electrical Engineering, Control and Instrumentation.
• Interpret, update and develop drawings, technical manuals and specifications.
• Manage service providers, external engineers and contractors to develop, repair or upgrade equipment.
• Manage pre-commissioning and commissioning of Plant & Equipment and issuing of commissioning reports
• Support continual business improvement and change management.
• Identify opportunities to pull best practices from external contractors.
• Participate in engineering specific risk assessments
• Develop and track project budget
• Comply with governance and established policies, systems, procedures and  practices
• Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards

Qualifications & Experience

• Electrical or Electronic B Tech or BSc Engineer
• 1 – 5 years related experience will be an advantage
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Project
• Conversant in application of Engineering Design principles
• Comfortable in initiating and running projects with requirements of significant capital expenditure (typical individual project value R2m-R5m, typically 10-20 projects per year)
• Presentation skills
• Knowledge of explosives, the related basis of safety, and explosives regulations will be an advantage
• Must be willing to travel locally and internationally
