Field Salesperson at West Coast Personnel

• Our client is currently seeking a results-driven Field Salesperson responsible for engaging customers in person, expanding market presence, and delivering tailored product solutions backed by strong technical knowledge.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: 

• Applicant should have Grade 12 or the equivalent of National certificate NQF Level 5. 
• Must have a strong technical background and product knowledge – bearings, seals, power transmission (belts, chain, gearboxes), electrical motors, fasteners 
• At least 3 to 5 years proven industry related sales experience  
• Basic metrology (use of a venier-calliper, reading of technical drawing and basic measurement of components, understanding and application of conversion charts) 
• Must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle 
• Skilled in oral and written communication. Basic arithmetic skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, ratios and percentages) in order to draw up quotations 
• Computer skills in order to optimize the efficiency of processes within the unit. Experience on Sage or similar ERP system would be an advantage  
• Previous experience with CRM will be an advantage

• Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets 
• Good timekeeping and Day/Weekly planning. 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: 

• Meeting sales targets and understanding building of sales pipeline (Sales and persuasion skills) 
• Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information. 
• Must ensure sales targets are achieved as specified by branch/regional sales manager. 
• Expanding the full product and service offering to current customers 
• Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs. 
• Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media. 
• Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns. 
• Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations and quotations on products and services. 
• Create frequent reviews, visit and sales reports with sales and financial data. 
• Update the CRM system on a daily basis 
• Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences. 
• Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections. 
• Collaborate with team members to achieve better results. 
• Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with inside sales team.
