    Field Service Engineer - Springs

    Job Description

    • The Field Service Engineer will provide on-site (in the field) service to our external customers and when not on-site, you will assist with the day-to-day technical support to the region.
    • This includes product selection and specification, troubleshooting, failure diagnosis and will involve working directly with internal and external suppliers and customers.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Field troubleshooting, including analysis of problems / recommendation & implementation of appropriate solutions, meeting with customers in plant or at customer’s site to resolve satisfactorily
    • Detailed failure analysis activities, including investigation / reporting / resolution
    • Product presentations to customers in order to drive root cause analysis exercises
    • Manage and report personal workload, forecast job lead-times to meet customer and departmental objectives
    • Visit customer sites for technical measurement, seal installation and commissioning
    • Work in line with John Crane standards, procedures and policies

    Required Skills and Experience

    • University degree/ diploma in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
    • Extensive years of professional experience in engineering, working with rotating equipment and maintenance.
    • Engineering knowledge in a proactive multinational and multicultural environment.
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, P&ID’s and data sheets
    • A strong technical knowledge of rotating equipment.
    • Ability to carry out failure analysis
    • Good knowledge and use of measuring instrument
    • Persistent and efficient, self-starter with good sense of initiative
    • Good administration and organizational skills
    • Languages: English
