Field Service Technician - Senior Para-Professional (S3)
We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual with a strong background in rotating equipment, including expertise in geared compressors, single shaft compressors, gearboxes, and auxiliaries. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing Siemens Energy compressors in the Petrochemical Industry and Mines in South Africa and abroad. The role requires a strong emphasis on technical expertise, alignment with guidelines and procedures, and the ability to work effectively within an encouraging team culture.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Performing all minor / major and preventive maintenances works on Siemens Energy Turbines, gearboxes and auxiliaries.
Site preparation such as preparation and check of tools, parts and equipment required for the work execution.
Ensure documenting of site activities by preparation of daily reports, field service reports, finding records and measurement protocols.
Performs day to day activities as part of a team or independently on duties as assigned
Identifies technical issues promptly, addresses them, resolves customer concerns, offers expert mentorship to support staff and junior technicians.
Align with the Siemens Energy standard EHS guidelines and quality standard.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or vocational School in Mechanical Technician
With 5 years of experience in field service environment.
Workshop fitting, machining & tooling will be a great addition to be considered for the role.
Experience working at Power Stations, Petro Chemicals, Oxygen Plants and Mines.
General profound understanding of technical equipment and ability to work with/based on user documentation.
Analytical skills with an affinity to technology and innovation in the service industry combined with a proactive and convincing attitude.
Knowledge of and working experience with rotating equipment especially steam turbines,gearboxes, compressors and auxiliaries would be an asset
