Role purpose

• Conduct weekly assessments of wheat and barley crops to determine the presence and severity of disease on multiple varieties.

Accountabilities

• Conduct weekly assessments of wheat and barley crops to determine the presence and severity of disease.
• Ensure that evaluations are carried out accurately and with attention to detail.
• Provide regular updates and report findings.
• Participate in training and receive assistance from the CPD team.
• Any other duties as assigned.
• Part-time: 2 days per week for site assessments and ½ day data consolidation and reporting.
• The position will be based in the Western Cape, preferably near Stellenbosch/Paarl

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Critical Knowledge

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field such as agriculture or plant pathology.

Critical Skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Own reliable transportation for travel to various assessment sites across the Western Cape.
• Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions.

Critical Experience

• Experience in conducting crop assessments and diagnosing diseases in wheat and barley crops is preferred.
