Key Purpose
- The Finance Analyst: COGS drives accurate product costing, BOM integrity, and cost insights to enable informed decision-making, optimise margins, and strengthen financial control across the value chain.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Key Outputs and Accountabilities include, but not limited to:
Accurate BOM and Product Cost Reporting
- Deliver timely and insightful BOM analysis vs. plan and prior year with root-cause commentary to enable data-driven decisions.
Master Data Integrity and Governance
- Own and ensure the accuracy and completeness of raw material master data, including new and promotional products.
Variance Analysis and Standard Cost Accuracy
- Analyse material price variances and ensure correct standard costing through D365 to support accurate profitability analysis.
Budgeting and Annual Price Planning
- Prepare BOM-related budgets and perform D365 annual price planning in line with forecasted changes in raw material costs.
Cross-Functional Costing Collaboration
- Collaborate with Marketing, Technical, Procurement, and Planning to ensure accurate new product costing and process integrity.
Resin and Aluminium Inventory Oversight
- Reconcile and account for CCBSA’s consignment resin and aluminium liabilities monthly to ensure accuracy and governance.
Costing Run Execution and Compliance
- Manage costing runs and liaise with service providers for updates due to standard price changes and ensure compliance with month-end procedures.
Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement process enhancements in BOM reporting, product costing, and raw material analysis for efficiency and accuracy.
Skills, Experience & Education
Education
- Postgraduate Degree in Accounting (e.g., BCom Honours)
- CIMA / Equivalent professional qualification (advantageous)
Experience
- 5+ years relevant finance experience with strong costing background
- 3+ years in finance management roles
- 3+ years of analytical experience (preferably in FP&A or cost control)
