    Finance Manager (Cape Town)

    Position Summary

    • Your main objective will be the day-to-day coordination of accounting practices and records which will ensure effective financial management at BOS. This will involve, debtors & cash management, risk management, stakeholder relations and compliance and auditing.

    Responsibilities

    Day to day coordination of accounting practices and records to ensure effective financial management.

    • Financial reporting packs created and distributed for approval.
    • Manage expenditure against budget.
    • Import and export documentation managed.
    • Vat Reconciliation and submission (SA and Europe)
    • The annual budget for relevant departments prepared.
    • Forecasts prepared and reported.
    • Prepare necessary filings and ensure compliance with the various statutory bodies
    • Monthly journals and cost allocations collated.
    • Trial balance drafted and distributed for approval.
    • Monthly reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts (Stock, Intercompany etc.)
    • Monthly expenditure reconciled with the monthly budget.
    • Ensure financial accounting, management accounting, stock control and manufacturing are relevant and appropriate to achieve business goals.

    Cash Management and Risk

    • Ensure effective management of cash across business units.
    • Manage risk.

    Compliance and audit

    • Ensure the company is compliant with all local requirements (all taxes, all declaration, work law…)
    • Recommend and implement relevant & compliant entity & administrative structures.
    • Coordinate audit and mandatory declarations

    Financial Planning

    • Prepare full annual and mid-year budgets.
    • Cash flow plans
    • Develop and enforce policies to minimize risk and ensure that the company reports its financial position accurately.
    • Ensure ongoing optimization of all systems and process.

    People Management and Leadership

    • Day-to-day support, training and coaching to finance team on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters and develop their leadership capabilities & business knowledge.
    • Effectively lead, inspire, coach, manage and drive performance in the department
    • Regularly evaluate departmental and individual performance, to improve their performance, increase morale and limit staff turnover. 

    Business Partnering and Stakeholder management

    • Provide financial advice and guidance to the company's managers and staff to enable them to achieve their objectives.
    • Work closely with Management team to provide advice, guidance and forward planning on the financial strategy to Management team and Investors.
    • Monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and providing the best value to the company.
    • Clients’ and suppliers’ issues dealt with effectively and efficiently and in a timeous matter.
    • Sales Support: Ensure that all sales reports can be quickly and accurately accessed, and that all sales information is pushed proactively to relevant parties
    • Supply Chain Support: Work with the Supply Chain team to ensure full visibility into stock holdings, stock management, stock triggers etc.
