GBS provides services across main areas of Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Finance and Information Technology. GBS support ABB business’ Globally from main hubs in Asia, Europe and America. This position is part of the local GBS Front office operation in the South Africa. You will be working as Finance Specialist – Accounts Receivable and will be part of Global Business Services (GBS) Business area for Finance Operational Services Division based in Modderfontein, South Africa. In this role you will be reporting to of GBS Finance Front Office Manager and will be responsible for collecting outstanding amount due to ABB South Africa and processing accounting transactions for Accounts Receivables (AR) department, Credit Management and Customer Master Data in a complete, accurate and timely manner while ensuring compliance and liaising between the customer and business. Developing and implementing collection strategies to ensure the process is effective.

Your responsibilities

• Managing the various aspects of customer master data and credit management and supporting the Finance Team Lead with ad hoc requests and liaising with Credit Bureaus.
• Maintaining and updating payment forecast schedules from customers and managing the forecasted cash flow and net working capital.
• Investigating circumstances of non-payment from customers and taking measures to reduce overdue balances through frequent follow-ups.
• Implementing and complying with the collection strategy, researching and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Monitoring and ensuring that the customers are not trading over the credit limits and keeping a track of customers who are close to credit limits with respective business.
• Assisting with internal and external auditors and ensuring all relevant stakeholders are aware of progress or issues to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Maintaining accurate records of all AR reporting and related controls and supervising the AR team as and when requested by the Finance Team Lead.
• Participating in internal control testing and preparing relevant documentation.
• Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with business, stakeholders and clients.

Your background

• Minimum tertiary qualification in Finance or accounting areas or Grade 12.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in financial accounting and accounts receivables role.
• Candidates must have hands on experience in SAP.
• Strong user experience in Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent presentation skills, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both internally and externally
